The WBC Muay Thai National Championship event has been moved to September 26, 2010. Support our fighters and witness them take home Championship titles. Coke is going for his second World Title, as well as Tong is hoping to take the MTAA Title. The event is at 12051 Garvey Ave, El Monte, CA. First bout is at 4pm. General Admission $35. WBC Muay Thai Championships

Trainer "Sugar Cane Coke" Phunhawat will again be fighting for a World Championship Title belt next month on September 5th, 2010 at the WBC Muay Thai National Championship. Earlier this year, Coke took home the WMC Title in Montebello, CA.

Also on the same card, student Tong Syvanthong will be fighting to take home the MTAA Title. This should be an exciting night for PRS. Wish these guys good luck. Tickets will be on sale at the frontdesk next week. Members, please sign up at the front desk by August 20 if interested in taking a party bus to the event. Felix Lopez will be fighting his first amateur MMA fight in "Born to Fight XI " by Cung Le and Javier Mendez promotions. Felix is in great form to face his opponent, Joe Silva of Combat Sports Academy, having just taken first place in a local no gi tournmanent just last weekend. Dominique "The Fallen Angel" Robinson defeated Ultimate Fighter TV Show's David Kaplan by TKO at 0:57 in Round 3 at the "Stars & Strikes" MMA Event last July 9th, 2010. This was impressive since Robinson accepted this fight on only 14 days notice. Congratulations Dominique!

Pro MMA fighter Christopher Clark from Pacific Ring Sports, faced Moses Cortes on March 27th, 2010, in Freestyle Cage Fighting's 185lb division at the Firelake Grand Casino in Shawnee, Oklahoma. Clark wasted no time, immediately rattling off a multi-punch combo. After a few exchanges he began to land more devastating strikes, including knees from the Thai clinch, while stuffing Cortes' takedowns. As the round was coming to a close Cortes was finally successful with a takedown attempt, but before landing a single strike from the top position, Clark locked in a triangle choke forcing his opponent to tap at 2:58 in the first round.

Muay Thai Extravaganza

Congratulations to student Tong Syvanthong who came back from So Cal last week with a win from the 'World Championship Muay Thai Extravaganza" on March 14th. The event, which was put on by Stand up Promotions and Muay Thai Association of America, featured WBC and MTAA World Title fights. Tong defeated his opponent, Prudencio Portillo, by decision. Good work, Tong!
