Trainer Coke Chunhawat wins the WMC World Championship Title

This past Saturday, on March 5th, trainer "Sugar Cane Coke" Chunhawat came home with the WMC Lightweight World Championship Title. The event was World Muay Thai Council's first sanctioned fight in California, and featured Coke's bout as the main event. Coke (41-8-1), always a charismatic presence in the ring, did not disappoint his fans, defeating Dan Rawlings (13-5) with a TKO 46 seconds into round 3. We are proud of you, Coke! Trainer Coke Chunhawat will be fighting on Friday, March 5th, 2010 at an event sanctioned by the World Muay Thai Council. This will be California's 1st WMC Sanctioned/ Televised Title Fight. Come see Coke take on the best Muay Thai fighters.

Matt Lucas will be fighting at XFight/USMF's 5th installment of "War of the Heroes" on March 6, 2010 at the Santa Clara Convention Center. Matt has been honing his conditioning and technique the past few months, and along with his experience in the ring, is ready to bring it on for this event. We wish Matt the best of luck. Kicking off the New Year in the ring are fighters Matt Lucas and C.J. Mills, as they represent Pacific Ring Sports at USF Boxing Club's "Winter Fest 2010" on Jan 30th, 2010. This event, sanctioned by USA Boxing, is open to all amateur fighters throughout California and registered with the body. Come support our fighters and watch one of them take the award for best boxer of the evening. Venue: Koret Center, 222 Stanyan St, SF. General Admission: $20.

Pacific Ring Sports’ Running Group for Oakland Marathon 2010

Pacific Ring Sports members are gearing up for the Oakland Running Festival next March 27-28, which includes a Marathon passing right through the gym at MILE 2! The weekend event also includes a Half Marathon, Relay, and Kids Run. A PRS running group is being put together, and they have already finished their first group run last weekend! If you are a member and would like to join the group, please e-mail: run@pacificringsports.com Training includes group runs around the Oakland neighborhoods and trails on the weekend, as well as cross training at the gym. If you are an avid gym goer at PRS, no need to give that up - training to run can be worked in your regimen!

On Saturday, December 12th, we will be celebrating the holidays in usual festive fashion. Members, friends and family by invite only. This is the only time members get out of having to wear gym clothes. There will be homemade Thai food, drinks, DJ's, and dancing. Pick up an invite at the frontdesk. Festivities begin at 8pm.

Mark your calendars! Pacific Ring Sports presents 'SHOWDOWN IN OAKLAND,' a USA sanctioned amateur boxing event, on Saturday, October 24, 2009. Several of our boxers will be showcasing their talent in this show. Pacific Ring Sports invites all gyms in California to display the talent of your amateur boxers. To ensure your fighter has a match, please contact us as soon as possible. Contact the gym for general information at 510-444-5269. An estimated 20 bouts are planned for the day, including youth and masters divisions. Weigh-ins at 9am; Matches begin at 1pm. Admission: $8 children; $10 adults.

Trainer Coke Chunhawat and student Matt Lucas will be fighting at the War of the Heroes IV Pro Muay Thai & MMA event on October 10th, 2009. Coke will be the main Muay Thai event, facing Master Toddy's Kevin Ross, while Matt Lucas takes on John Kusaba of FSA Academy. As always, plenty of action will be in store for this night, so come support our Muay Thai team and purchase your tickets at the gym today. Tickets are $35. Ringside $50 (limited)
