Omar is from Paris, France and started boxing at age 15. At age 17 he took up Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu at the Cercle Tissier Academy, the first BJJ academy in France under Flavio Behring, a 9th degree Red-Black Belt under Grandmaster Helio Gracie. The Behring family of academies, known for focusing on technique as well as character development, shape Omar’s teaching style. The academy produced fighters such as UFC Fighter Anderson Silva and World Champion Fabricio Werdum.
After training for many years in BJJ, Omar became a teacher and received his brown belt. He competed in 3 Pro MMA fights in France and several in the US, winning all of them. He also competed in many BJJ tournaments in France. In 2015, Omar received his black belt under Diogo Gomes. Gomes received his black belt under Fabio Prado (Carlson Gracie).
Omar studied philosophy and sociology and has 5 sisters and a brother. He is a very patient, technical trainer who welcomes the novice and seasoned student.
