Rob Prakhantree - Head Muay Thai Trainer

Saiyan Prakhantree, known to friends as “Rob,” is the Head Muay Thai trainer at Pacific Ring Sports. He is a former Pro Muay Thai and MMA fighter, ranked #9 at the renowned Lumpinee Stadium and Muay Thai Champion at Thepprasit Stadium.  He has achieved immense status in his career, amassing 175 Pro Muay Thai fights and three Pro MMA fights.  He also has 24 amateur Western boxing fights under his belt.

Rob was born in Nong Khai, a city in Northeastern Thailand on the border of Laos, but grew up in Ban Phue in the province of Udon Thani. Rob first saw Muay Thai on TV when he was four years old, and went to see live fights near his home at this tender age.

At age 11, Rob started thinking seriously about becoming a fighter for a profession, but his mother insisted he stick to his studies.  Rob wouldn’t give up on his dream.  At 13, his older brother secretly took him to compete in an amateur fight near his home. Rob, with no formal training, stepped into the ring with a seasoned fighter. Though Rob lost, he was determined more than ever to train in a real gym and fight professionally.

Months later, he was visited by a childhood friend, who happened to be training at the Fairtex Muay Thai Camp in Bangkok. They snuck out of the house to go to Bangkok, and the rest was history. He brought pride to his family and was able to help them financially.
